'Baahubali': Making Video of Prabhas-Anushka's Film Gets Fantastic Response from Fans

Prabhas-Anushka Shetty's "Baahubali" is one of the most-anticipated films and the historic drama has been in news ever since it went on floors in 2013.

"Baahubali" team has completed one year's journey in making the film, which is one of the big-budget entertainers of Telugu cinema. They have come up with a special video that gives a glimpse of their path breaking effort in making the period action drama film.

The teaser, uploaded on video sharing site YouTube, has received overwhelming response from fans. They have given positive feedback about the video, which has fetched over 4 lakh hits in less than two days. It is fast approaching the five lakh mark and currently features in the list of most popular videos on YouTube India.

This is not the first time that the film's makers have released videos about their project. Earlier, the first looks of Prabhas, Shetty and Rana Daggubatti were unveiled for their respective birthdays. They have also released several other teasers such as "How to climb an elephant", "Tips for the exams" and a video on the stunt master Peter Hein.

Directed by Rajamouli, "Baahubali" will be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual with Prabhas, Shetty, Tamannaah and Daggubatti in lead roles. Sathyaraj, Nassar, Ramya Krishnan, Kicha Sudeep, Adivi Sesh, Subba Raju and Rakesh Varre are also part of the film's cast.

"Baahubali" music is composed by M.M. Keeravaani, cinematography is handled by K K Senthil Kumar and editing is done by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni are producing the film, which is said to be made with a whopping budget of ₹175 crore. The film, being made in two parts, will have extensive VFX works. The presence of big stars and lavish sets has also contributed to the film's big budget.

The Prabhas starrer is carrying huge expectations as director Rajamouli has an impressive track of hit films including "Magadheera", "Vikramarkudu" and "Eega." According to latest reports, the film is creating records in pre-release business. A well-known distributor has bought the Ceded and Karnataka distribution rights of the film's first part for ₹13 crores and ₹9 crores, respectively, reported idlebrain. Buzz is that the film's distribution rights for the Nizam region has been sold for a whopping ₹25 crore, according to a report in Times of India.

The first part of "Baahubali" is all set to hit the screens in April 2015.

Prabhas and Rana hit century on weighing scale

Hyderabad: The over-100 kg weight sported by both Prabhas and Rana is for their upcoming film Baahubali. Both the actors undertook special training to put on the physique required for their roles.

Prabhas and Rana Daggubati are playing two of the most important roles in the magnum opus. Prabhas plays the lead role while Rana plays the villain. The director wanted both of them to put on weight to fit their characterisation in the film. Unlike Rajamouli’s earlier films, this one is a folk drama.

It’s not easy to put on weight and to also keep your muscles toned unless a fitness trainer closely monitors the whole process.

Prabhas and Rana got fitness trainer Lakshman Reddy to work with them. Lakshman Reddy is the winner of the Mr World 2010 bodybuilding championship held in Las Vegas (USA) and has won 13 titles in India and abroad.

Prabhas started his training eight months before the shooting for Baahubali started. “Putting on weight while keeping muscle tone intact needs a lot of time. I monitored food intake and workouts very closely for both of them,” says Lakshman Reddy.

“It has been two years now and Prabhas’ exact weight is 100 kg now,” he added.

“Their daily diet consisted of six to eight meals – all non-vegetarian. No rice was given at all. Meals were eaten every two hours. The total calorie intake would range between 2000 to 4000 calories a day,” he says.

Prabhas has two avatars in the film. One is lean and the other a bulky and heavy one.

And what would be the right way to reduce weight and muscle after the film is over? Reddy says, “The process will be the same but you have to limit the food intake, depending on the person’s requirements. It takes four to five months to reduce,” he says.

He clarifies that he never supports the use of steroids for physique building. “Drugs are risky and cause health problems,” he says.

He prefers natural diets and regular training. “A daily workout is compulsory. Otherwise problems are sure to crop up,” he says.

Lakshman  is now focusing completely on  Prabhas and is in charge of his fitness and health. He was initially training Rana also, but now, a friend is looking after Rana’s training.

Prabhas saddened by the death of his fans president

The president of Prabhas fans association, Shankar, passed away yesterday and Prabhas is very saddened by his death. Shankar has been the fans president of Rebel Star Krishnam Raju and Prabhas for a long time.

"Deeply saddened by the demise of Shankar, the president of my fans association. He was a great source of strength for me and pedananna garu since many years. Praying for his family", Prabhas posted in his social networking account.

Spotted: Prabhas and Gopichand

T-Town's lankylads Prabhas and Gopichand were spotted together at the latter's new movie launch ceremony in Hyderabad on Friday. Both the actors, who graced the event in casuals, exchanged plesantaries and spent some quality time.

UV Creations, which earlier made Prabhas-starrer Mirchi, is producing Gopichand's action drama. While Prabhas is busy shooting for Bahubali, Gopichand is fast wrapping up the shooting of untitled film directed by Sriwaas

Telugu actor Prabhas, the lead actor in the film Mirchi, which namma Kichcha Sudeep recently remade in Kannada as Maanikya, has been hearing good things about Sudeep's version. So much so that Prabhas, who is apparently nursing an injured shoulder post surgery, is keen to watch the film. The actor took to his social networking page to write, " Congratulations to my friend Sudeep on the success of 'Maanikya', the remake of Mirchi'. I want to watch the movie soon! Some one please teach me Kannada."

According to sources, Maanikya was made at a scale as grand or better than the original, a richness that is apparently evident onscreen. Add to that the fact that Sudeep managed to get Crazy Star V Ravichandaran to play his father in the film and a host of other interesting actors on the cast, including Ramya Krishnan, Nagashekhar, Sadhu Kokila, Varalaxmi and Ranya, among others.
